The Leaders
The main U.S. offensive on Iwo Jima was lead by 8 different generals, most famously Chester Nimitz. While the Japanese were lead mainly by 2 men, this gave the United States an advantage by having more leaders because it was easier to control troops with 8 generals that are all on the same page rather than 2 men trying to run a 36 day battle.
